Keynote speaker: Professor Raj Chetty - Harvard University: The long-term impacts of teachers
Hear from one of the "top young economists doing work on real-world problems" (New York Times) on how we can measure the worth of a good teacher; whether children who get good teachers do better when they grow up; and what is the long-run return on investments in better teaching.

Plus other informative sessions:
Economics and the Organisation of the Public Sector
Professor Neil Quigley (Victoria University of Wellington) will explain what the theory of incomplete contracts can tell us about how the public sector should be organised.
Two of the lead authors of the 2010 "Review of Expenditure on Policy Advice", Dr Graham Scott (Productivity Commission) and Dr Veronica Jacobsen (Ministry of Science and Innovation), discuss how to build the public sector’s economics capability.
Beyond Cost Benefit Analysis
Flexibility can be very valuable, but traditional cost benefit analysis all but ignores it. Dr Arthur Grimes (Motu) will explain how to incorporate real option analysis into cost benefit analysis.
Dr Adolf Stroombergen (Infometrics) and Chris Schilling (NZIER) will explain how computable general equilibrium models work and compare them with traditional cost benefit analysis.
This session will conclude with a panel discussion on the future of project evaluation.
